Why a Blogging Scholarship?
At College Scholarships.org we believe that everyone deserves a shot at a decent education. And we love bloggers. Not for the least of reasons, because we blog, and the founders of this site makes a living as bloggers. :)
We believe passion is important. As the world gets more competitive, those who are passionate about what they do, and work close to their passions, will be able to become and stay successful even as technology and automation eat away at many business models. Those who are willing to share their experiences with the world help make the world a better place, even if most bloggers only consider blogging a hobby.
We believe those who freely express themselves are far more likely to find their true passions and connect with people to bring on large scale social change.
Not Blogging Yet? Blogging Rocks...Start Today
If you do not yet blog, consider starting one. We always prefer blogging on your own domain name (because that gives you more flexibility if your blog becomes more than you thought it would be), but there are also many free, quick, and easy to use blogging platforms. A few of the more popular ones are:
* Blogger - free blogging platform from Google. You can host your blog on yourname.blogspot.com, or publish remotely to yourname.com.
* LiveJournal - free blogging platform. You can host your blog on yourname.livejournal.com. Mostly used for expressing teen angst!
* MovableType - downloadable software you can install to publish a site on yourname.com
* Typepad - paid hosted blogging platform. You can host your blog on yourname.typepad.com or yourname.com.
* Wordpress - free blogging platform. You can host your blog on yourname.wordpress.com. You can also download the Wordpress software program, and host your site on yourname.com. Some hosts, such as Dreamhost, come with one click blog install.
* Also don't forget to check with your school to see if they offer students blogs. And if you want to keep up with the latest blogging news give ProBlogger a look.
Have a Friend That Blogs?
If you have a friend that blogs feel free to mention this page to them, or if you want to really surprise them nominate them, stating why you think they deserve this scholarship.
Apply Today!

* What is the most interesting or inspiring blog post you have ever read? Why did you find it inspiring?
* How have you used blogging to help yourself or others?
* What is the most powerful social change you have seen come out of blogging?
* Why did you start blogging? What does blogging mean to you? Why is blogging important to you?
