Talent Development Program Overview

Gannett Co., Inc. is seeking applications for its 2011 award-winning Talent Development Program. The TDP provides college graduates with the opportunity to begin a career with the nation’s largest print, broadcast and digital information company. The selected participants will have the opportunity to work and develop in some of Gannett’s top markets. We are now accepting applications for the 2011 Talent Development Program class which begins in June, 2011. Application deadline is April 1, 2011

Requirements: Candidates must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.2 and are required to have personal transportation, a valid driver’s license and successfully complete a drug screening and background check.

Selection Process: Successful candidates will demonstrate professional business attributes such as:

* Critical thinking
* Creativity
* Self-motivation
* Initiative
* Organizational skills
* Problem solving
* Time management skills
* Mutimedia and web based skills
* Social media proficiency

Strong consideration will be given to candidates who are technically proficient with job-related software applications including multimedia, mobile and web-based skills.

Location: You select the region where you want to work; however specific cities are not guaranteed.

Notification: Participants will be notified of their selection by April 29, 2011.

Orientation: TDP participants will be required to attend orientation on May 31 to June 2 at Gannett headquarters in McLean, VA. Gannett will cover all travel, lodging and meal expense.

Training: At the conclusion of the orientation, participants will report to their respective work locations by June 21, 2011, unless other arrangements are made between the employee and the local unit.

Career Counseling: Participants will be assigned a mentor to consult with on a regular basis during the ten-week training program. After graduation from the program graduates will be assigned a career coach.

Employment: Participants who successfully complete the ten-week training program will be awarded confirmation of their full-time positions.

Program Graduation: August 30, 2011
