You’re a digital superpower, an alpha e-mail mastermind and a social networker with enough links to rev your own search engine. But now it’s time to expand your idea of “explorer” from Internet browsing to marketing a plucky little bilingual girl.
That’s where the MTV Networks Summer Associate Program comes in. It’s an extremely competitive, ten-week paid training program for highly motivated recent grads who are pursuing careers in the media/ entertainment industry and who want to find new outlets for their digital know-how, innovation and other untapped talents.
You don’t need a Ph.D. to figure out how valuable this program is. It prepares you for life after school with a great jump-start to your career. Based on your experience, education and areas of interest, we place you with one of our departments that focuses on new media. Participating departments may include, but are not limited to, the following: digital marketing, Web production, product development, digital research, sales and business development –– you
get the idea. Keep in mind our digital groups may support a wide range of online, wireless, gaming and social media initiatives. From participating in our core professional-skills-training workshops to meeting and interacting with MTV Networks executives, you’ll gain the crucial people skills and business knowledge to help you fast-forward
your career.
We’ll need your focus, commitment and creativity fully loaded and queued up –– just like all of our properties, which include MTV, MTV2, mtvU, VH1, Harmonix, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, TV Land, Comedy Central, Spike TV, CMT, CMT Pure Country, Atom.com, MTV Hits, MTV Jams, MTV Tr3s, GameTrailers.com, VH1 Soul, VH1 Classic, VHUno, Shockwave, Palladia, Logo, NOGGIN, The N and Nicktoons Network, plus a huge variety of other mobile, online and gaming initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
Candidates should be in their last semester of an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program and should have received their degree by the start of the program.
Need to be available for full-time employment from Thursday, June 4, 2009 through Friday,
August 14, 2009.
Dedicated to pursuing a career in the media/entertainment industry.
Previous internship or work-related experience within or strongly related to digital media.
Involvement in extracurricular activities —preferably activities that demonstrate leadership
qualities and achievements.
Minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
